Doing lots of stuff
I realised today that I hadn’t posted on my blog for a week – that’s because I’ve been doing lots of stuff. We’ve had John’s friend Nige staying with us from Saturday night to Tuesday night – he was over here for some work this week and took the opportunity to hang out with John, and no doubt check out that John hadn’t shacked up with a rubbish girlfriend. I think I won him over with my brownies and apple cake (still using up those apples).
On Saturday night we had one of John’s colleagues and his girlfriend over for dinner – they are also newly arrived and live in the same apartment complex as us. On Sunday we went to see a thrilling rugby league game at a stadium nearby with Nige.
I took the day off on Wednesday to go to the bank and the doctors, and then afterwards I went down to Coogee beach to meet up with Marian for a late afternoon drink. On Thursday evening we went to the Comedy Store, which is walking distance from our apartment, as one of Nige’s friends was MCing this week.
Other news this week is that I joined Facebook and I have tickets to see Sydney FC v LA Galaxy (complete with David Beckham) in November.
So a mega busy week, but a quite weekend coming up – in fact on Saturday night I’m home alone as John is going to a Sydney Swans game (Australian football) and he couldn’t persuade me to go – I don’t understand the game and don’t have any inclination to understand it. So Saturday night is a good time for a chat if anyone wants to call me.

Hello!!
I’m back from Canada – what a fab place, I loved it – it’s so beautiful. We’ve also had my sister’s wedding (thank goodness that is all over – I couldn’t believe what a selfish little madam she had become) – that said, it was a great day and she looked stunning (she scrubs up pretty well).
Why can’t I find you on facebook – will have another look in a minute.
How many apples do you have left? What an odd tradition, what’s the point of it~? is it some kind of rubbish bonus – I think I would have taken the money!
I’m technically unemployed – Burberry didn’t want me back, they didn’t bother to tell me – charming, so I’m going to start looking for a job next week, I expect it to be pretty quiet until September – don’t really mind too much, I like having these career breaks.
PS – there don’t seem to by any rules in Aussie No Rules Football – I went to see a game – no idea what was going on – it just seemed to be men in tight shorts running around – which isn’t always bad

We still have half the apples left – that’s after two apple crumbles and two apple cakes. I think I’ll be making another apple cake this weekend, although I think I’m going to invest in some electric mixers as making it all with a wooden spoon is tough.
Good luck with the job hunting, and send me pictures from the wedding. Also give me your home number so I can call you – with your quiet September I can pretty much call you any day.

Hi
Like all the news…..seems like were there with you.
Thought you might like to know that Nicola’s A level results gave her an A, B & C which got her her place at Liverpool. She is chuffed to bits, just 4 weeks to go and can’t wait to go.
Was great to speak last weekend. We had a good time browsing around Harrods and all the other places Nicola likes to look. I think she has pretty much decided to put her birthday money towards a necklace she saw but will let you know when its been purchased.
All for now

Tried ringing you at home but you must have been out after all. Michelle is with us this weekend to do her essay. Her laptop packed up this morning so Dad and Michelle took it into town to be fixed and now she has it going again thanks to the PC clinic in Chelt’who fixed it by 1pm. It needed a new hard drive, which panicked her when they told her that, however they slavaged her essay and put it onto her memory stick so she used my laptop until the new harddrive was ready and Dad went back in to collect it. Fortunately they found all her files and transferred them all to the new drive. So are you ready for the QA’ing of this essay??? No doubt it will come your way. You are not safe even in Oz!
Good luck with the apples– keep going.
Love Mum
