Kookaburra
Today a Kookaburra visited out balcony. Clearly there isn’t enough old gum trees around. He sat quite regally for a while, surveying the view beyond the balcony. He scarpered when John and I decided to take a picture of him.

Oh! so us oldies aren’t the only ones studying the feathered species these days. By the way are you sure it was a Kookaburra??
We have had snow here today so most of the bird life around here has been for a visit to the bird feeder today. Lovwely…!
What other birds names have you both learnt while being in Oz?

Why do you think I wouldn’t know whether it was a Kookaburra – they are quite distinctive?
I see lots of Cockatoos when I play golf and there is another bird which I see all the time, I don’t know what it is called, but I call it ’scary bird’ as it is quite large and has a very long beak.
